New Beat Farm Stand

COMING 2026!

We have been dreaming about offering a full-service farm stand for our local community ever since we moved to our farm in Knox in 2012. Slowly but surely the pieces have been coming together. In 2023, we did the earthwork and put in a gravel pad. Ken has been harvesting wood with our horses  and milling lumber for sheathing for the past two winters. We’ve got an awesome building plan.

To turn this into reality, we’re taking on a $15,000 crowdsourced loan through Kiva. This model is great because it’s no interest, but we do have to show community support to qualify. We need 30 individuals to loan us at least $25 each in order to unlock the full $15,000 potential. If you choose to be one of those lenders, you’ll be paid back in full at the end of our loan term!

There are other ways to support the farm as we get building: Consider purchasing a Market Share CSA- you’ll be able to spend it at the farmers’ market or at the new farm stand. Your investment now helps fund part of the remaining construction and infrastructure costs.

Once open, we’ll be able to expand our commitment to fair food access by accepting SNAP/EBT and WIC. We’ll be a one-stop shop for organic produce and cut flowers as well as local meat, dairy, fresh bread, and pantry staples from nearby farms. We’re excited to have a place for the public to shop in person with us, and we plan to welcome you in for workshops and seasonal community events.

This farm stand represents not only the next step after the decades of work we’ve put into this farm, but also the path to a financially viable future for this business, so that we can keep growing for you for the decades to come.
